With the 997 already, to say the least, well known for being grey, New Balance have put an extra emphasis on the details of the original 997, and its contemporary update counterpart, the 997S.
The made in the USA status of the 997, a longtime point of pride for New Balance, is placed front and center on the original, as it relocates from the tongue to replace the iconic ‘N’ branding. The classic look of the 997 makes its way over to streamlined silhouette, featuring revealed ENCAP technology, of the 997S. It’s a comprehensive reimagining of the familiar, and it still doesn’t need any colors besides grey to do it.
