After fifteen years in the marketplace, Bodega has been extremely fortunate to form long and meaningful personal and working relationships with some of our favorite brands and the good people behind them. One of our all-time favorites is Pleasures.
A subversive California clothing brand the brand’s founder and director, Alex James, has made a name for himself and his label by juxtaposing provocative, often controversial graphics with recognizable fonts, appropriated and used out of context. With a style reminiscent of streetwear’s golden years of the 80s and 90s, Pleasures’s retro designs are rife with irony, biting wit and a crass, sardonic sense of humor. It was what the world needed and we could relate.
Fast forward to 2021 and Pleasures is helping us celebrate our anniversary andcommemorate our fruitful relationship by contributing some original designs for a collaborative capsule collection. Using our SS21 collection as a reference point, Pleasures took our outdoorsy theme and ran with it, adding their signature spin for a “forestial vibe” with some of their trademark humor.
